I think this is complete. I incorporated everyone’s ideas and made my own icon to avoid any license issues real or imagined.
Here’s the latest snapshot. If all goes well, I will submit the application to the AndAppStore.
UPDATE: Got my phone, today! I hope you enjoy using this FREE program as much I did making it.
I changed the background image and modified the font. I think it looks better. It would be really nice to have one of these phones.
Just a quick note that I just committed gentoo-sources-2.6.27 with ~x86. Other archs, please test and keyword at your convenience.
Thanks.
I made my first application for Android. A very simple application to calculate tip portions for a group of people. It’s wasn’t rocket science to make but it was a lot of fun. a good learning experience and it’s great to be able to develop applications without having to register with any commercial company or risk the chance of having any application you develop rejected.
So far, it’s looks like Google and its partners have done a great job.
LWN is reporting[1] an issue with the Intel e1000e driver in the development kernel (2.6.27) that could leave your network card permanently damaged.
At this point, Gentoo provides this version of development kernel with the git-sources package. This issue apparently does not affect network cards using the e1000 driver. So, if you use the e1000e driver please do not install or use git-sources. As soon as a patch hits the mainline git tree I will update the package version which includes the fix.
A new version of portpeek can be found here (version 1.6.7) or emerged through portage.
Changes:
The way I was checking if a package was masked was incorrect. If you had a package in package.unmask and it was also in profiles/package.mask, the code was incorrectly surmising the package was stable.
Bug reports and patches are always welcome.
A new version of portpeek can be found here (version 1.6.1) or emerged through portage.
Changes:
This version is for users of portage >= 2.2 as it removes the use of deprecated modules. Recommendations for additional features are gladly welcomed.
